DISSEMINATION

From September 15 to 19, 2025, Belgrade hosted the international conference GeosciRA 2025 (https://geoscira.wixsite.com/2025), which brought together experts from various scientific fields and confirmed the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in solving contemporary challenges in the field of geosciences. Members of our project team participated in organizing the conference, contributing significantly to its quality and successful realization trough involvement in the scientific and organizational committees, as well as serving as editors of the book of abstracts and contributed papers.

As part of the scientific program, Dr. Milan Đorđević presented the results of research on the applicability of topographic openness-based techniques for gully boundary extraction in forested terrain using high-resolution UAV-based LiDAR data collected in the northern part of the Crveni Potok catchment in eastern Serbia. The obtained results indicated the high reliability of this approach in conditions of the dense vegetation, where classic methods of remote detection have limited application, thus opening up new opportunities for improving the monitoring of erosion processes and soil protection.
